psychotic on ritalin, not on caffeine

I understand that caffeine and ritalin work in through different mechanisms, but I had a psychotic reaction to ritalin, but I can tolerate 10 cups of coffee a day. In fact ritalin depresses me, makes my mood very dark and serious, coffee does not do the same thing.
