> I have tried all the SRIs for depression with most of them making me very numb, drowsy and lifeless. I am now taking about 20 mg of adderal twice a day and 200 mg welbutrin sr. These two so far are the only ones that have lifted the dark cloud off me.THANK GOD! My problem now is when it is time to go to bed . I start feeling the depression again and am unable to sleep all night. The doctor has tried in addition to welbutrin sr and aderall trying each one of these desyrl(trazadone) and celexa , paxil and lexapro but still they make me down the next day. I am able to go to seep but only ususally for 4 hours and then wake up and maybe get one more hour. I am so tired of this stuggle. Any suggestions out there? and hopefully something that does not cause weight gain. I also tried lorazam in the evening but I still wake up after sleeping 4 hours. and always with a hangover. Do you think I may not have given the desyrl,(trazadone)a long enough chance? It just sure knocked me out. and seemed to linger the next day. I am just thrilled with how the wellbutrin sr works with the adderal because neither one worked by them self but it just seems I STILL need something in additon to help me wind down but not DEPRESS me in the evenings so I can sleep. Does that make sense to anyone? Been struggling so long with this. Would appreciate any feedback. Thanks
Ask your doctor if 3mg of melatonin 1 or 2 hours before bed would be ok. I use melatonin and have read about others using it with excelent results. I have been prescribed Trileptal, Wellbutrin and Adderal for my ADHD with depression/anxity. melatonin really helps returning the body to a normal sleep pattern. Good luck and let us know if you try it and your results.
