> BlondegirlExercise can change the action of many medications. What has been reported is that pure ADD responds well to exercise especially aerobic activities. There are very few texts written on the effects of exercise and Pharmacology.[unfortunately]. It is logical to believe that the pharmacokinetics of a medicine can be altered dramatically through exercising. [Without the use of any meds, human anatomy and physiology substantially changes]. For instance, let's say you are on an antihyperlipidemic medication such as lipitor, pravachol, or zocor. Strenuous and consistent exercise can cause muscle cramps and toxicity while on these meds.
There are few Docs that consider the exercise factor. Do a search for author Stan Reents Pharmd. He has written a well regarded text pertaining to exercise and Pharmacology. More info. needs to be published and the medical community should adopt this type of info. when initiating therapy to those who routinely exercise. Of course, proper hydration factors in a well. Hope this helps. Regards, Micro
