I have struggled with anxiety/panic for many years and have tried various medications along with psychotherapy. I am a psychotherapist, in practice for over 20 years now, specializing in the treatment of anxiety (surprise!) It is my firm belief that Klonopin is an extremly helpful medication for anxiety--probably more so than the SSRIs in my experience--and tends not to be abused by people who don't have addiction problems to begin with. Find a good psychiatrist to monitor your use and never stop taking it abruptly. There are some new medications in the "pipeline" that look promising.
