Tom, the key is to hang in there. I take effexor also and lamictal along with xanax. I'm still trying to find the right mixture of meds for me. But from what everyone says, give it time. Usually it takes about 5-7 wks before you feel much benefit from them. We are all in the same boat here and it's important to remember your not alone. Your not crazy and your not messed up. You, like most of us have a chemical imbalance that causes our problems so we cant blame ourselves. You know your a good person and you have a support system right here..
