Can anyone explain how Buspar works?

I saw this on Scott's site:

Buspar

CYP-3A4 *  azapirone:
5-HT1a full agonist (pre)
5-HT1a partial agonist (post)
DA2 partial agonist
* 1-PP metabolite:
NE-alpha2 antagonist

The drug's geneic name is Buspirone Hydrochloride. Does it have something to do with chloride and the sodium - potassium pump? Does anyone know what 1-PP metabolite means?

I understand (I think) that an NE-alpha2 antagonist actually increases norepinephrine because the NE-alpha2 site is an inhibitor.

Is the 5-HT1a serotonin agonist working in the same vein as ssri's, or is that a subsite that does something else?

Thanks to anyone who can help.
