And in addition to making me gain weight, I started having "female problems" on Depakote. At the age of 42 -- after a year or two on Depakote -- I started having heavy periods that would go on for weeks -- sometimes months. This after years of being normal and regular. I finally became anemic and had to have surgery. I strongly suspect the Depakote.
