I am not sure if people should be skeptical of any prescription drug because most drugs are metabolized by the liver. I am, so regardless of whether a drug has less adverse reactions and side effects, that the body is processing a serious substance that through evolution it is not used to processing. Some drugs carry specific warnings that state that blood monitoring is necessary. I just had bloodwork done for my mood stabilizer. I also have a script to get bloodwork done next month for my liver.Any doctor that knows you take meds will be totally understanding if you request liver blood work I think.
Also get your thyroids checked regularly, guys. I am borderline [hypo or hyper- not sure which one I am closer to], and I have been over the last few years. I first found out at a dual diagnosis ward i stayed in for a week. They suggested i keep track of this, and I have two times since I was told 4 years ago. I did not have regular insurance, so since I have it now, I am getting that checked next month too, so it will be the third time in the last 4 years. You all need your thyroids checked because it is so often implicated in mood disorders.
