Hey:
It sounds like you have GAD to me.
I have GAD too and have EXACTLY your symptoms, but they did start out as constant worrying-type thoughts too ... ( like always anticipating problems and planning ahead for EVERY little thing, in my mind only, "just in case"). Y'know, like "well if John had an accident on the way home, first I'd do this, then I'd do that" so I'd have a whole scenario figured out in my head. I wouldn't really be feeling anxious or scared, I just never stopped ruminating on the possibilities of EVERYTHING. The thoughts just kept on flowing. It kept me awake at night and interrupted my sleep for years. I could always seem to follow several thought patterns at once too. THEN, after about 2 years of this, I became panicky and anxious and a bit depressed. I get very irritable and cranky, and if I have a thought, have to act on it till it's resolved. Except, quite often another idea comes along and I follow that !!!! So I feel a bit out of control at times. Last year, I was feeling more physical anxiety ALL the time and Klonopin did wonders for me. I've been on it ever since.
Now I'm under a new stress ( a new business) and the old racing thoughts are back again, and some irrational anxiety behaviour, so my Doc has added Manerix (Moclobemide)to the Klonopin. Hope it helps, cuz I'm not eating etc. and am afraid of "crashing".
My PDoc says therapy doesn't work for GAD ppl, cuz it gives them another thing to have anxieties/racing thoughts about!!
Good luck to you.
Jas
