This is just my 2 cents..but I think alot of this research is skewed...for instance..how do they discern what is caused by the disease and what is caused by the med?
Using the logic used in these studies I can say that chemotherapy causes people to die from cancer..when the truth is that the treatment did not effectively combat the disease.
What I will say is that if any good comes out of these studies..it may get docs to realize that SSRIs are the best mode of treatment for SOME patients..not ALL patients..geez sometimes I find it amazing that it is just assumed that depression means I have a serotonin deficiency and I am prescribed a med to combat that when not a single test was run to verify it...there is more of a link between body and mind then I think most docs realize..I would love to see more actual PHYSICAL testing mechanisms be developed for patients with psychological disorders so that docs can more precisely prescribe meds..
