Hi Tony P.
>>>> I wish they had left it at a warning and not withdrawn these medications, which have NO substitute with a similar profile available. I wish the drug companies would let the Dr. make the decision, based of course on adequate information. <<<<--- I totally agree with you. My dear friend and I both have been taking Serzone/Nefadozone for the past years, ... so far, both of us have *NO* problem whatever. However, we both are VERY cautious to watch the precious 'Liver' every day making ascertain as to any 'unusual' symptoms, such as 'yellowish'skin-tone, 'dark-colored urinine' and everything related to 'Liver.'
Since the 'Black Warning'was issued on this med., Serzone, around 2001 - early 2002, frankly it's quite 'nerve-wacking' to go through this, self-examination. This seems certainly because of the 'hyper' press/law-suits and etc.
Then, I finally e-mailed both the company/maker and FDA in asking 'NOT' to *discontinue* Serzone/Nefadozone because there is 'NO' alternative to look for, because all of other ADs, especially SSRIs are NOT tolerable for me and some of folks. ---
The reply was as follow:
"Thank you for your message to the Center for Drug Evaluation and Research
(CDER), one of the five centers within the Food and Drug Administration
(FDA). Your inquiry has been forwarded to our office for a reply. The product is available. Currently, we are not aware of any information
regarding the withdrawal of the product from the U.S. market.Sincerely,
