I have a big problem talking to people, even to people I know, and feeling self conscious and overscrutinized. If I say something that me makes me feel even slightly self conscious, I have a tendency to blush and start feeling uncomfortable, which often escalates to the point where I start sweating profusely. The sweating phenomenon will also happen to me in stores standing in line. That particular problem has been so bad in the past that I've wandered around stores for long periods of time waiting for a shorter line to appear at one of the checkouts. I've also had the same thing happen to me eating in restaurants.
As far as helping me to deal with my social phobia, I would rate
Zoloft (50-100 mg/day) Effexor (75-150 mg/day): 50% reductiontricyclics (nortriptyline, desipramine, protriptyline): 80% reduction
Nardil: 90% reduction
