Clomipramine would be worth a trial instead of Amitriptyline. It is more serotoninergic, has a similar amount of noradrenaline effect, is less anticholinergic, so less dry mouth & urinary retention & alot less sedating, so it would cause less weight gain.

I wouldn't eliminate MAOI's, the diet is a lot less restrictive these days & MAOI's have the least amount of side effects.
