There is a lot of data/research indicating that increased REM sleep durations are negatively correlated with mood, and vice versa (REM sleep reduction-- even deprivation-- is positively associated with mood). Also, CNS cholinergic activity is positively correlated with increased REM sleep durations, and, therefore, mood.
i was very interested in trying galantamine (the new cholinergic *and nicotinic* Alzheimer's drug) for my Nardil-induced anticholinergic side effects (especially for what seems like decreased cognitive skills) ... (if i could ever get any somehow). But now i am concerned that it would have a negative effect on my mood and worsen my depression. Any thoughts?
i appreciate it.
