**** kind of. memantine is a derivative of adamantine, which binds very nicely to neuronal nicotine receptors, which are implicated in mood disorders (schizophrenia) and, more specifically for this drug (memantine), anti-parkinson's, so expect some tardive dyskinesia. almost all stimulants - from methylphenidate to epibatidine to amphetamine to nicotine - bind to the same receptro as memantine. i leave it to you to find the K_{i}s for these drugs - i cannot divulge for other than (S)-nicotine - to determine is memantine will displace a stimulant from the receptor in question*****

What's the link between nicotine receptors and schizophrenia?
