HELP! Effexor XR and non-XR max dose difference?

Posted by jerimycoplo on May 3, 2004, at 19:40:55

Hi, I was wondering why the max approved dose for normal effexor is 375mg is for effexor xr it is 225 mg? It does not make much sense. All the XR is is extended release. This should not make the blood concentration of the drug any higher at the same dose (mg).
Any ideas why this is?
I am currently on 300 mg Efffexor XR per day, and it seems to be working fine, yet it's higher then recommended dosage.
any comments?
