> I don't take benzoschemist here...i am aware that paxil cannot be prescribed in the U.K. for patients under the age of 18...is fluvoxamine (luvox) not available in the U.K.?....but in the end, i am puzzled, because your post implies that you are seeking relief from physical pain, and that somehow an SSRI is more appropriate than an analgesic. the doctors don't hand out antidepressants when, say, you've just had your wisdom teeth removed, and psychiatrists don't prescribe hydrocodone as the first-line therapeutic in, say, mood-disorders. what's going on here? if you are suffering from physical pain, then a more powerful analgesic than ultram is appropriate. if the ``pain'' is emotional/mental anguish, then the SSRIs you mention might be of use...please clarify the situation, and with all the best wishes, chemist
