I've read they are both Hydrazine derivatives & this has something to do with why they have an effect on GABA. Parnate (Tranylcypramine) has no GABA effect as its unrelated to Hydrazine. Perhaps you'd like to look into this more.

My psychiatrist mentioned Nardil, and how he's had great success with it in treating patients who suffer from social anxiety disorder. My dad was on it for a number of years, as he's been diagnosed with major depression and generalized anxiety. Personally, I'd rather I wasn't on an MAOI...I'm not into the idea that I'd have to avoid certain foods.
