> I've got a doc appt. tomorrow and I want to be well informed when he suggests a new med to me. I need something to supplement Wellbutrin that will help with depression and motivation. I know that there are a million of them out there but I need one with little SEs. I've already tried Effexor, Prozac, Lexapro and Zoloft. (I refuse to consider Paxil due to the weight gain many experience.)

>I suppose you might want to consider desipramine, as this works on a different neurotransmitter than the SSRIs and has the fewest side effects of the tricyclics. I have used this particular combination; the thing to be aware of is that Wellbutrin will increase blood plasma levels of desipramine beyond what they would normally be due to CYP-450 2D6 inhibition. There are references to this in the prescribing info that comes with Wellbutrin. The blood plasma level of desipramine can always be checked to verify if you are in the therapeutic range (125-300 ng/ml).
