I take Marplan, which is another MAOI. Its side effects fall between those of Nardil and Parnate. (I don't know why more people don't take it.)
I take Klonopin and Neurontin with no problems. The codeine should be okay as long as it is actually codeine. Some other opiates cause problems.
This is what I found about dietary and drug restrictions:
http://www.dr-bob.org/babble/20040218/msgs/316177.htmlRx List has information about Nardil:

The dietary information is out of date. Here are some abstracts from PubMed:

http://www.dr-bob.org/tips/maoi.htmlEighty percent of the dietary hypertensive reactions result from eating aged cheese. I avoid those cheeses entirely. I've consumed moderate amounts of Kikkoman soy sauce with no problem. I don't take any cold or allergy drugs, herbal remedies, or other drugstore pills except for vitamins, minerals, and fish oil.
