> Since I decreased my Nardil from 60 mg back to 45 mg due to edema and urinary retention, I have noticed that myoclonic jerks have increased! What's up with that? I actually timed them one night when I was trying to get to sleep. At one point, it was every 5-10 seconds. At times, my abs clench, too, and/or my jaw snaps shut. Has anyone else had this experience? My poor husband...

Someone once called me a myoclonic jerk.It is sometimes difficult to figure out why these drugs do what they do. I know that the increase in MCJs with the decreased dosage seems counterintuitive, but the excitability of nerves is determined by a complex array of interactions and feedback compensation mechanisms. Hopefully, things will settle down within a week or two.
How long has it been since you reduced the dosage?
