Remerom works okay for depression, if you don't mind WEIGHT-GAIN. That might inhibit the sex-life your seeking to restore (sorry, that was a bit of a low remark I know).
Anyhow, I actually don't know how frequent weight-gain is with Remeron but whenever I tried it, I immediately gained weight and stopped.
If you are looking for an anti-depressant that is not an SSRI, why not try a tricyclic antidepressant like Desipramine.
Desiprimaine does not cause weight gaine if I recall, and also is not sedating like Remeron. Unless an TCA is contraindicated in your case and your doctor would know, I would go that route.
