is LAMICTAL activating or sedating + headaches

Hi,
I'm at 50 mg of Lamictal and experiencing a nasty headache.. does this side effect tend to subside with time???
Also, I'm relatively tired at this dose.. In general, is lamictal known to be activating or sedating?
