Before ever taking lithium, i was given
imipramine. It was unbearable to me -
rashes, dizziness, insomnia, stomach ache,
sweating. It was worse than my depression,
so my doctor took me off. It was not
until a year or so later i took lithium,
which i call it "like water".My friend takes it for most of her life,
hates it, but nothing else has worked;
she has been on SSRIs, MAOIs, and other
tricyclics. It has to be adjuncted with a pacifier benzo for sleep for her as it is agitating.Just recently lithium was added and she feels better than ever she has in her life
on imipramine alone. It does make you wonder if it's the lithium that has improved her depression or both. The benzo alleviated the irratibility
and insomnia of the imipramine just given recently
a year ago.Squiggles
