I've been reading this with interest and I agree about the tendancy to pass out pills to readily.
It just seems to me that if she is having troubles it would be more responsible to give suggestions on how to pick the right doctor, not tell her to avoik them completely.
I was one of those that thought my daughter was bipolar - with the screaming, quick mood switches and all. Her doctor wouldn't hear of adding a mood stabelizer. She's gone from a very troubled teen to a sophmore in college doing great.
