hi, zuzu! :) zuzu, my research confirms what the others are saying, i'm sorry to report. i haven't heard great things about it for social anxiety, either.
> Do you think I should put it on my list of things to try as an augmentor. Which antidepressants do you think it works best with?scott, my 2 cents: with the cymbalta i agree that if there's anything you're going to need to supplement with, it would be a dopaminergic drug. (but it's hard to say right now if you will need more dopamine b/c cymbalta is supposed to increase dopamine a little bit. so you'll have to wait and see. at least it doesn't *decrease* it as with SSRIs.) i have researched dopaminergic add-ons myself and came up with extended-release ritalin as your best bet in my opinion, if you need to augment.
if the 60 mgs doesn't work for you, i would possibly add that (the ritalin). but i wouldn't go over 60 mg before adding ritalin because adding ritalin will increase blood levels of some neurotransmitters. (besides, i don't think cymbalta has been proven yet to have any greater efficacy over 60 mg a day, but don't quote me on this.)
but i am interested to see how you do without augmentation first for a little while after it kicks in, so you can better see what neurotransmitters you need to target. (we're going to get you well, darn it!) but if you don't want my advice, you can tell me where to go. :) just kidding, but seriously, i don't want to give unwanted advice....:) but i have taken an interest in your case...hope you're doing okay.
take care :),
