permanent damages by antidepressants ?

Posted by francesco on August 29, 2004, at 16:36:06

I'm off meds now. It won't last long though. I have severe adhd and I have to come back to tryciclics as soon as possible. I have read some Breggin's books lately and I'm beginning to wonder if there could be some truth in his statements that antidepressants can cause neurological damages in the long run. I have taken antidepressants for ten years and I think that my concentration, memory, mood and motivation had worsened. It seems to me that ten years ago I was able to do things that I'm not able to do anymore.

I would like to know how many of you believe in this theory but I would prefer not to hear 'wishful thinking'. We all wish that this were not true but I would like to understand if, in your opinion, it *can* be true.
