Parnate is regarded as one of the faster acting meds, but even so, it might take longer than a week for some people to notice results. In my case, I started Parnate last Tuesday at 10 mg/day, went to 20 mg/day Wednesday and started definitely noticing some changes by Saturday or Sunday. Don't think I'm saying my depression has completely abated, though, because that is very far from the truth. I am also experiencing some fairly bad insomnia and am waiting for this to abate a little before I go up in dosage.
I don't know how you're taking the Parnate, but you will get more efficient MAO inhibition by splitting the dosage into at least two parts, say, in the morning and the afternoon. This is true of any MAOI with a short half life, such as either Parnate or Nardil.
