I tried Marplan, with mediocre results. Although Nardil worked years ago wonderfully (after a long, gradual tiration), both it and Marplan haven't packed much of a punch for me more recently. The problem = side effects!
Marplan caused edema and fatigue, with only moderate AD effects. I only gave it 4-5 weeks, though, which I know may not be enough. It was only afterwards that I learned certain things can be added reasonably safely to combat MAOI fatigue, like Wellbutrin. I've even heard now of Provigil being added.
But everyone's different, so good luck, Marplan is worth a shot when making the MAOI rounds. My own problem now involves Parnate which is supposed to be stimulating, but isn't for me. I don't think it's causing weight gain on its own, and it's only been 2+ weeks at 30-40 (I dropped to 30 after a few completely zoned-out days at 40). Tiration here has to be extremely gradual too, I guess.
