The existing SSRIs overlap greatly in their therapeutic properties and side effects, however each is different enough from the others to demonstrate variable effects on each individual. There are trends for some drugs to be better at treating certain symptomologies than others. From what I have seen posted on the board recently, there is a trend for Luvox to be better for OCD. However, that there are people with OCD who do better on Prozac demonstrates that "different is different".

Luvox is different enough from Lexapro to make it a reasonable decision to switch to it if Lexapro is proving inadequate.
