i also experienced hair loss while taking Effexor. but the other side effects had me so scared that the hair thing i sorta ignored. it came out in the bathtub. i always felt like my head was full of rocks while on E. if you do decide to stop taking it, please, please taper off very slowly.....very slowly. my doc would not help me either and i talked to my pharmacist and she helped me get off of it. i tapered down according to what she recommended. good luck.
