Having taken all the other AD's with little result and lots of side effects, I'm pleasantly surprised with Cymbalta. I'm starting my third day.
Unlike Celexa, Remeron, or Serzone, it doesn't cause heavy sedation. And unlike Zoloft, Prozac, and the others with the anticholengeric effect, it doesn't have much in the way of urinary/sexual side effects. And this is someone who is sensitive to side effects and has quit all the other AD's.
Best of all, it actually works on the depression, and perhaps OCD, since I feel better and can concentrate. Within hours of the first dose it felt like my brain was getting something it was starved for. My usual worries and obsessions seemed unimportant and I could enjoy being in the moment.
I hope Cymbalta works for me over the long haul because I've tried everything else except MAO's. The only downside so far is a little insomnia.
