> Hi! Quick question...I know many of us have struggled with the horrible weight gain from AD meds. I put on 25 lbs after my first med. and can't loose it though I maintain a very active exercise routine and am almost a vegetarian. My question is; Has anyone else experianced an increase in their Bad cholesterol count (HDL?) and a decrease in their Good count? I just had a routine physical and asked for a full blood test because I am concerned about what these meds are doing to my body, the weight gain I already surmised, but was shocked to hear my cholesterol had jumped from 160 to 200 and vice versa on my good cholesterol, making the ratio of the two that the docs judge by way out of wack. Has anyone else had this happened or heard of a connection with anti depressants???? Thanks!

Hi,

Which drugs were you taking? The antihistamine type AD's & AP's taken daily can cause metabolism problems such as hypergycemia, diabetes & hypertriglyceridemia in thos people who are susceptible.

Cheers,
Paul.
