How did u guys becomes so knowledgeable?

On most boards, people just discuss the meds they're on, without getting too technical. How did so many of you learn about all of the various receptors, antagonists, etc., and how various medications effect those receptors? Are there any books or sites you would recommend? Sounds like many of you have taken courses in neurobiology.
