Hi Broadie

Either spelling is correct, it just depends where in the world the drug is being produced.

I have been on Effexor XR 150mg for almost 3 months. I am an alcoholic so not drinking was kind of like asking a fish to walk on dry land. As with any medication, particularly anti depressants, it is always advised *not* to drink. It affects some adversely whereas others can drink at will with little or no ill effects. The effect that it has on me is that I have AD & alcohol induced black outs. I may not necessarily be drunk but after a while of drinking, I don't remember a darn thing. It isn't nice. I have done some things in these states that I am not proud of. I have also been working terrifically hard at drinking less.

I have noted on all the research that I have done on Effexor, that it does not interact with alchohol. Be that as it may, drinking is a decision that should be approached with extreme caution. After all, alcohol is a depressent, so it's kind of like defeating the object isn't it? (Strange words coming from someone who drinks)

Hope that helps
Sabrina
