Here's another site that mentions Taurine may act as a neurotransmitter in some areas of the brain and retina.

Since these posts aren't so much about alternative treatments as about finding something that will help substitute for Neurontin until I'm able to get off it (but could be misconstrued as such), I won't mention them on this med Board again.
