I feel your frustration. For what its worth, its well-founded and you're in good company. I think you answered your own question about the premature ejaculation. Sounds like a withdrawal issue and time will most likely take care of it.
The larger question about finding a solution in med cocktails for depression and other mental health problems is an important one. You've pretty well nailed the down side of throwing more and more drugs at one's symptoms. Whatever you can resolve with lifestyle and other non-invasive strategies or supplements is probably a good way to go. Diet, exercize, supplements, sunlight, therapy, rearranging your life, can cumulatively provide some relief or a foundation to build on. You might want to check out the alternative board.
My own willingness to play with cocktails is directly proportional to how badly my symptoms are treating me. Taking meds is NOT a benign process. You can probably save yourself going down some dead-ends and pick up some good ideas by reading about people's experiences here.
I've been at this a lot longer than you and would only add the following from that perspective: over the years, the issues change. Some things have gotten better and some things have gotten worse. How you treat yourself in your 20s can have a significant effect on what you're dealing with when you hit midlife. In the end, how you proceed is a very individual decision. Personally, I like your instincts and would encourage you to trust your gut. Good luck!
