Why are you taking Effexor with the Prozac? What is your diagnosis? 50mgs effexor is an ultra low dose, but I'd surmise your doc is doing that thinking since the prozac's already got your serotonin transporter saturated, it wouldn't take too much effexor to get binding at the norepinephrine transporter and jumpstart your brain's norepi. If so, that's an interesting strategy. If you are uncomfortable with it, maybe you could switch the effexor for desipramine or lofepramine (depending on which part of the world you live in). Both of these drugs have only the norepinephrine component to their action. Just some thoughts to bring up with your doctor.
