I can only give you my son's experience with Adderall XR.
He was just as you are now (fine) when he first started taking it at the beginning of the summer.
He has just been put on Zoloft with the Adderall Xr because he was MORE depressed, agitated, antisocial, oppositional, et cetera by September.
Everyone metabolizes meds differently- have someone you trust help you to keep an eye on your moods with you. I'm not familiar with Lamictal, so I can't comment on its efficacy.
