I was taking lithium, Depakote and Welbutrin when I started taking Effexor for a few months. It was a very difficult and strange time, and I think it helped keep me from going under. Despite having some short dissociative experiences (probably due to circumstances) and substantial withdrawal effects, I would use it again, and taper down to ten and five mg doses by breaking open the capsule. Was not aware of any reactions with lithium.
