Hi,
Sadly, eszopiclone (Estorra) is not an innovation. I seriously doubt that it will have any advantages over zopiclone, a drug which has already gained widespread acceptance as a hypnotic in many parts of the world. Although zopiclone is often used on a long-term basis, dependence may occur. In my opinion, the same will almost undoubtedly be true of eszopiclone, whatever the manufacturer may say. Also, I believe the risk of dependence may be somewhat higher with zopiclone than with zolpidem (Ambien/Stilnoct).
Regards,
Ed.
