Libbyann,
I was on Paxil for 6 years, and it worked great for me for not only depression, but also general anxiety and social anxiety. It did, however, take 3 to 4 weeks for things to even out when I started taking it. But, after about a month of using it, I felt like my old self again - happy, enthusiastic, carefree. The first few weeks were rough, and I experienced increased anxiety, fatigue and stomach problems. To deal with the anxiety side effect, my doctor gave me a very small perscription of Xanax. This helped in the first few weeks on the Paxil. The side effects, however, did go away after the first month. I went off Paxil for about a year and a half, and then tried to go back on it again, and it didn't work second time around. Nevertheless, my first experience with Paxil was very good.
Good luck, and give the Paxil a few weeks to do its thing.Tamara
> Will someone with experience with Paxil please tell me about their experiences? I'm on day 11 and have some questions about what I'm feeling. I'm pretty sure it's the Paxil, but I'm hoping it will wane with time. Can anyone offer any experience-based encouragement? :)
