Zyprexa as a one-time sleep aid?

Posted by SDA on December 7, 2004, at 20:51:41

My sleep schedule is pretty much ****ed right now. I stay up all night, go to bed in the afternoon and then sleep into the early evening. My psychiatrist (who also deals with sleep disorders apparently) suggested that I take 5mg of Zyprexa at 10pm, so that I can sleep from ~11pm to 8am. This is only a one time thing; after this I'll have to commit to this schedule on my own.

Does any of this make sense to anyone? I'm a little nervous about it being an antipsychotic (I'm not psychotic at all), even if its only one pill. I also took a 5-6 hour nap in the middle of the day today, so I'm not sure if I'll be tired enough for it to work out.

thanks
