Have Medications Changed Anyone's Diagnosis?

Just thinking about all the various SRI's and Benzos, plus Trileptal I've taken over the years and how my Dx has changed along with the symptoms. How come on benzos I was working and functioning at a high level and then when SRI's were introduced I have gradually gotten worse to now being disabled and very agoriphobic and hopeless. Anyone else experienced something similar?
