In reply to Anyother Tranquilizers with antipsychotic proper?, posted by mmcconathy on January 4, 2005, at 13:03:26
I feel for you Matt, I hope you're speaking to a psychiatrist. I'm no expert, you've been traumatized and need to talk to professional people. Ativan, Serax, Xanax and Valium are all benzodiazepins or minor tranquilizers used to relieve anxiety. Moban is an antipsychotic or major tranquilizers and used (and I quote) "in the treatment of schizophrenia, the crippling psychological disorder that causes its victims to lose touch with reality, often triggering hallucinations, delusions, and disorganized thought." They are very different drugs. I'm not going to scare you with the side effects of antipsychotics but in the right dose and under the right supervision you can get through this. You need support from family and friends and medical attention as soon as possible to ease your suffering.
After reading two of your other posts I'm also thinking neurotic, manic depressive?
You will get through this. I hope I was of some use to you.
Take care brother, and most of all take a deep breath and relax.
