Hey, you arent going from 150 to 75 to 37.5 are you? I think thats far to fast if you are...open up the caps and divide them up and take a very slow decrease, a few weeks per dose drop...I used the same strategy for increasing dose by 18mg. You might help the anorgasmia with over the counter diphenhydramine...it worked for me, other people add remeron to combat that but weight gain is a problem. If your coming off of effexor though add a long lasting ssri like prozac or zoloft, your doctor would probably give you a starter package of that, taking one every few days will allow your come down to be more gentle although this will most likely increase your anorgasmia.
Ben> Hello everyone. I was reading some of the postings on the effexor withdrawals and was simply aghast. Until I found all of these threads I thought for sure I was just over reacting. But these "zaps" that everyone talks about..OH MY GOODNESS! Me too! The vertigo, slushhead, yadda yadda. This has got to be the worst drug I have ever seen. I will say I felt great while on it except for one problem...any of the guys reading this who turned into "stamina man" with their parnters will know what my issue was. Welbutrin was my next avenue..but that was like a crack trip for me...so as of right now I am on nothing until I get ahold of my Doc tomorrow. I am glad to see I am not alone and am not just imagining these withdrawals. Please feel free to give me any advice on how to deal.
