Hi Kate,
My experience was the same as Elizabeth's. When I was taking 7.5mg Remeron, my appetite increased a lot, and I had a lot of daytime sedation . But as my dose increased, my appetite decreased, and the daytime sleepiness went away altogether. JRBecker has some great old posts on Remeron; I have copied the URL's from one thread below. In one of his posts JRBecker gives his experience with each dose level, and his experience is exactly the same as mine. Here is what he says:
"7.5mg: good for sleep, no problem with sedation at all.
15mg: good for sleep, mild sedation throughout the day. very little AD effect.
30mg: great for sleep, mild to moderate sedation. Good AD effect. Good for anxiety
45mg: mild sedation. Great AD effect. "Of course, I am also taking 5mg Selegiline +DLPA, and I sometimes take Adderall as well, and all of these decrease appetite and are activiating. So it is always a case of YMMV. But Remeron does have some real advantages. It kicks in quickly, and it reduces anxiety as well has helping with depression.
Good luck, and let us know how you do,
Ktemene
