2mgs of Rohypnol with the opioids would give her a great nights sleep if she has a low benzo tolerance, she might feel groggy the next morning. The only problem with Rohypnol like all benzos is she will build up a tolerance and find it hard as I am to live without it. For sleeping I think it's the best hypnotic benzodiazepine you will come across but I don't recommend long term use. There should be no need to mix with alcohol, just up the dose as required.
As for the chronic pain, has she tried Tramadol Hydrochloride, it's an opioid like Lortab and Oxycotin. I take 800mg occasinally for recreational reasons and find it very pleasurable, I find it easer to get than Vicodin (due to the hype). It's just another avenue she may want to explore. I suffer from lower back pain and have done all my life and find a mix of cannabis, diazepam and tramadol to be super effective.
Good luck troutslayer, my thoughts are with your wife.
