prozac not working anymore!!

Ive been on prozac and other antidepressants off an on for the last 5 years. I notice that prozac begins to lose its magic after about 3-4 months. When i go off it for a while and then start it again...it starts to work again....just wondering if anyone else has had similar experiences and what they do about it? thanks!
