In reply to Effexor withdrawal in the news, posted by jen2 on January 28, 2005, at 17:25:28
I am really glad to have found this site. I thought I was losing my mind. I started taked Paxil about 3 years ago then switched to Effexor XR 75mg then down to 37.5mg. Needless to say I will never take another drug for depression again. Don't get me wrong. They were both great and helped me through my seperation from my husband. But if I had known about the withdrawl I would have toughed it out on my own. I have had all the shocks and movement sensations and night cramps in my legs. But about a year ago when I switched from Paxil to Effexor I started having seizures!!! Doctors can't find anything wrong. I've had a ct scan, mri, and several eeg's to no avail. The strangest thing is that they only happen while I am asleep. Is anyone else having these problems? I have been off all drugs for about 5 months. My doctor gave me zoloft to ease the withdrawal. It helped a little. But these seizures are worse than any withdrawal symptoms I have experienced. I am now seeing a neurologist and he makes me feel like it just can't be the medicine. I believe it is. I am really sorry to run on like this, but it would be great to know if anyone else is having this problem.
